Contemporary Britain is a rich and thriving multi cultural society.  In this talk, we will tell you about aspects of life in the UK today that makes Britain what it is today focusing on its sport, arts and culture, film, architecture and leisure.  

The UK is a parliamentary democracy.  This talk will explore the history of Britain's democracy, the elements of the British constitution, the relationship between the four nations of the UK,  and the rights and responsibilities of British citizens. 

For students and academics intending to travel to the UK to study

Deciding to study overseas is a daunting prospect for individual Chinese students and academics. As well as facing particular challenges of language and culture, students have to learn a completely different set of study skills.  This talk introduces to students an awareness of the range of study skills needed to make their UK study a successful one.

Education reform has been at the centre of the policy agenda for successive UK governments over the last 20 years.  This talk will give an overview of the current UK education system, its successes and failures and the challenges faced over the next few years for schools and universities.
